Question:
Dr. Haley,
I really like your web page.  I especially like you set up your testimonials.  How'd you do that?  Do you have to pay real audio?  I like the idea, but I'm not sure how to do it.  Can you point me in the right direction?
Thank you,
Dr. Xxxxx Xxxx

Reply:
Dear Dr. Xxxxx Xxxx,
I recorded my patients onto regular cassette tape.  Using "Cool Edit" from Syntrillim (at http://www.syntrillium.com ) and a special cable I got from Radio Shack (RCA jack to 1/2" or something) I transferred from cassette to computer.  I cut out the umms, coughs, hacks, and pauses using Cool Edit to minimize the file size for faster downloading.  I saved the file using Cool Edit in the .ra file format.  Then I linked the persons name to the name of the .ra file.  There is a way to get the file to play during downloading, however, I believe you need a special program on your web server.  I'm not sure how that works so I just kept my files small.  Oh yah, by the way, I don't think you have to pay Real Audio anything.  I e-mailed them regarding that and never received a reply.  Good Luck and God Bless You!
Sincerely,
Michael A. Haley, D.C.
