Question:
Firstly, I would like to say that I am a 5th year Physiology student and I am thinking of becoming a Chiropractor myself.  I have three questions: 1) Are you for or against immunizations?  2) What do you think about web sites that blast the Chiropractic profession, like Chirobase and 3) What, in your opinion, are the better Chiropractic colleges in the United States? Your honest reply would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Xxxxxx Xxxxxxxx,
To answer your questions:
1. Are you for or against immunizations?
I do not have kids yet.  But when I do, I do not want that stuff in them.  My belief on this topic has switched from for immunization to against.  It took time and study.  It is a topic that takes intense research to understand.  I do not think we will ever comprehend how much we inhibit human potential with immunizations.  I am comfortable placing my trust in God rather than in man's knowledge when it comes to general health care.  I believe the intelligence that formed us is far greater than man's cognitive thinking.   It is well written: "professing themselves to be wise, they became fools" (Rom 1:22).  As time passes, we learn just how foolish man's wisdom is.  When it comes to medicine, that which was once considered wise is now considered barbaric.  I do not tell my patients not to get their children vaccinated.  I do, however, make available information so that they can make their own educated choices.
2. What do you think about web sites that blast the Chiropractic profession, like Chirobase?
I do not think of them much.  However, I do appreciate the link chirobase has to my web site.  My hit counter shows I get significant traffic from that link.
3. What, in your opinion, are the better Chiropractic colleges in the United States?  Your honest reply would be greatly appreciated!
Honesty is my policy, I wouldn't have it any other way.  I went to Life College (now Life University) and loved it.  I know Palmer college is a great "straight" school (meaning having a focus on practicing only chiropractic).  Other than that, I know little about the other chiropractic colleges.  I'm sure great chiropractors can come from all chiropractic schools, however, you may have to go elsewhere to get your chiropractic philosophy.  I recommend you find a school that matches your philosophy.  I do not know how much adjustment technique is taught at the various colleges.  I recommend you visit several chiropractors and ask them this same question.  Furthermore, I have links to several schools on my Chiropractic Links page.  This may help.

Yours in Health,
Michael A. Haley, D.C.
