Dear Xxxxxxx:
More information would be helpful, such as when the pain started, its
quality (sharp/dull/knife like/throbbing/electric/etc.), your age, health
history, exam findings, lab results, etc.
Chronic health conditions always have associated neurological components. The nervous system controls and coordinates all organs and structures of the human body. If a vertebral subluxation exists, you would do well to have it corrected. A vertebral subluxation complex may not only be the cause of your pain, but also of your chronic cystitis.
If the Macrobid stops your infection and you still have pain, there is still a problem there. This is further evident by the recurrence of cystitis.
Continue care with your physicians for this problem, however, I recommend you also get checked for vertebral subluxations by a chiropractor. Eliminating nerve interference may allow your body to cure itself of your pain and chronic cystitis.
The area of the spine where nerves exit that control the bladder also has nerves going to sex organs, prostate, knees, and muscles of the low back to name a few. If you have other symptoms in these areas, it is further evidence that you should get your spine checked.
I hope you find this information helpful. Please reply back if you have questions, or let me know how things turn out down the road.
Yours in Health,
Michael Haley, D.C.
